Techfest Vietnam 2025 Brings Innovation to Open Cultural Space Around Ho Guom: Hanoi will witness a historic milestone this December as Techfest Vietnam 2025, the nation’s largest innovation and startup festival, transforms the iconic Ho Guom pedestrian area into a dynamic, open cultural space. At a press briefing held yesterday, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) and the Hanoi People’s Committee announced that the event will take place from December 12 to 14 under the theme “Nationwide Innovation – A New Growth Engine.”

Event Moves Outdoors for the First Time

For the first time in Techfest’s history, the festival will be held outdoors, helping bring innovation closer to public life. According to Deputy Minister Hoang Minh, taking science and technology into pedestrian spaces around Ho Guom will enable citizens to directly experience cutting-edge solutions.

Moreover, Director Tran Anh Tuan of the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology emphasized that this shift marks a turning point in embedding innovation into daily urban life and expanding public access to the startup ecosystem.

700 Exhibition Booths to Showcase Modern Solutions

The festival will feature around 700 exhibition booths presenting groundbreaking digital technologies, smart solutions, and innovative business models. These booths will allow residents to interact with products firsthand while giving startups, investors, and research institutions an unmatched opportunity for collaboration.

In addition, specialized display zones will create meaningful engagement spaces where innovative startups and investors can connect, explore partnerships, and collaborate on technology transfers or investments.

“One-Person Enterprise” Concept Takes Center Stage

A standout feature this year is the introduction of the “one-person enterprise” model. Deputy Minister Hoang Minh explained that digital platforms now enable individuals to register businesses, handle finances, pay taxes, and manage operations entirely online. The ministry aims to develop nearly seven million such micro-enterprises in the coming years — fueling a transparent, flexible, and innovation-driven economy.

Inspiring a Culture of Innovation

Techfest Vietnam 2025 also aims to cultivate a mindset where entrepreneurship becomes accessible to everyone. By hosting the event in a public open space, organizers hope students, researchers, startups, and ordinary residents will recognize innovation as central to national progress. Tolerance for failure, Deputy Minister Minh noted, is key to fostering meaningful creativity and long-term growth.

Massive Local and International Participation Expected

This year’s edition of Techfest is anticipated to attract over 60,000 participants both on-site and online. Delegates will include startups, research organizations, investors, and representatives from six global regions: Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East, North America, and Europe.

As Techfest Vietnam 2025 prepares to unfold across the cultural heart of Hanoi, it promises to spark inspiration, foster collaboration, and empower a new generation of innovators driving Vietnam’s economic growth.
