Yum! Brands Completes $2.7 Billion Sale of Pizza Hut Business: Yum! Brands, Inc. has completed the sale of its global Pizza Hut business through two separate transactions, marking a major step in the restaurant giant’s strategy to become a more focused company centered on its remaining global brands.
Yum! announced that it has completed the sale of Pizza Hut Ex-China to private investment firm LongRange Capital for approximately $1.5 billion, subject to certain purchase price adjustments. Under the agreement, Yum! could also receive an additional $75 million earn-out by 2030, depending on the future performance of the business.
The transaction follows the completion of the sale of Pizza Hut China to Yum China Holdings, Inc., which closed on August 7, 2026.
Together, the two transactions value Yum! Brands’ sale of Pizza Hut at approximately $2.7 billion in aggregate, subject to final purchase price adjustments.
“With this transaction complete, Yum! Brands now moves forward as a more focused company with significant opportunities for growth around the world,” said Chris Turner, Chief Executive Officer of Yum! Brands.
Turner said the company plans to leverage its digital capabilities, global scale and focus on changing consumer preferences while strengthening restaurant economics and expanding the use of its technology platform, Byte by Yum!
The completion of the Pizza Hut sale significantly reshapes Yum! Brands’ portfolio. The company will now focus on its remaining restaurant concepts, including KFC, Taco Bell and Habit Burger & Grill.
Focus Shifts to KFC, Taco Bell and Habit
Yum! Brands and its subsidiaries franchise or operate more than 44,000 restaurants across 151 countries and territories.
KFC remains one of the world’s leading chicken restaurant brands, while Taco Bell is a major player in Mexican-inspired food. Habit Burger & Grill operates in the fast-casual segment, offering fresh, cooked-to-order meals.
The company said its growth strategy is built around its Recipe for Good Growth and Raising the B.A.R. priorities, combining the strength of its brands and franchise network with digital and technology capabilities.
The Pizza Hut divestment is expected to allow Yum! to concentrate its resources and management attention on these remaining brands while pursuing long-term growth opportunities across international markets.
International and Digital Growth
Yum! said its digital capabilities will remain central to its future strategy, alongside continued investment in technology and restaurant operations.
The company is increasingly focused on digital commerce, delivery, artificial intelligence and technology-enabled restaurant operations. Its Byte by Yum! platform is part of that strategy, providing technology capabilities across its restaurant ecosystem.
The company said its goal is to accelerate growth while delivering sustainable long-term value for shareholders.
